About the Bledisloe Cup 最小化

Q. Is this an annual competition?
A. A match in this year’s Bledisloe Cup is being held especially in Japan to build up interest in the sport leading up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup to be hosted by Japan.
Also, the “Bledisloe Cup” is contested annually between the Australia’s Wallabies and New Zealand’s All Blacks, so this is only the second time that a match in this competition is being held in a third country. (A match was held in Hong Kong last year.)

Q. Is there any possibility of cancelation? What would cause this competition to be canceled?
* H1N1 flu, ticket refund, etc.

A. The competition will proceed ahead if the amount of rainfall is within expectations. However, if rain halts main modes of transport, then an appropriate decision will be made by the operating group after discussing the matter with the organizers, supervisors, sponsors, partners, etc. Also, it is difficult to predict the H1N1 flu virus going forward, so appropriate decisions will be made closer to the date of the match.

Q. What have been the results?
A. The all-time record between the teams as of June 1st 2009 is 106 wins, 45 losses, and 5 draws in favor of New Zealand. Of these matches, 113 have been contested as part of the Bledisloe Cup. The results of Bledisloe Cup matches are 77 wins, 32 losses, and 4 draws in favor of New Zealand.

Q. Is this held outside of Japan?
A. Bledisloe Cup matches were always held in Australia or New Zealand, however in November of last year a match was held in Hong Kong for the first time. Tokyo will become the second foreign city to host a match. Further, hosting of future matches in other locales is now under consideration.

Q. What is the Bledisloe Cup?
